from a northeast ohio wedding photographer

Do you have a backup camera and batteries?Yes! I have one main camera body that I have on me at all times, and two other camera bodies that I pull out if I need to. It is essential that I always have extra batteries, camera lenses, and flashes with me in case something happens to my main gear.
-
Do you have liability insurance?I’m insured! If your wedding venue asks for liability insurance from all of your vendors (many venues do this), let me know and I can send you the right paperwork to pass along. Liability insurance protects me, you, your venue, and your guests in the event something catastrophic happens.

How do you take care of our photos after the wedding? As soon as I get home from your wedding, I begin to backup all of your images to two different external hard drives that house your images as I edit and deliver your gallery. Your photos are already backed up once on two memory cards (my camera holds two memory cards and writes to both of them the entire day), but I add two extra layers of protection by backing them up again to the hard drives. I keep all 4 backups until your final gallery is uploaded and delivered. Not doing this exposes risk of losing your precious moments, which isn’t something I want to leave room for!
-
Does your camera have dual card slots?Absolutely! My camera holds two memory cards so I can have a backup of every single image the entire day. Photographers that don’t do this risk the potential of losing images in the event that a memory card corrupts unexpectedly (which can happen at any point because…technology). By using two cards, I still have all of your images safe and sound!

How do you prepare us for our session or wedding day? It’s not your job to know what to expect from a photographer if you’ve never been photographed professionally. I’ll help you every step of the way! Through my social media platforms, my blog posts, and various email resources, I’ll make sure that you are equipped from head to toe with all the necessary information you need to make you feel confident, comfortable, and cared for at your session or on your wedding day.
-
How many photos will I receive?Depending on the number of hours your coverage allows, expect around 50 images per hour of coverage. If you have me booked for 6 hours at your wedding, expect around 300 photos in your final gallery.
-
How long will it take to get my photos?Wedding clients can expect their galleries about 6 weeks after their wedding. Lifestyle clients can expect their galleries about 3 weeks after their session. Wedding clients receive a sneak peek preview of images 72 hours after their wedding day. Mustering up the patience to wait months for your wedding photos can be difficult. I pride myself on a quicker turnaround time for galleries (without compromising the quality of your images) so I don’t have to keep you waiting!

Should we do an engagement session? I’m not really photogenic.YES. A million times yes. You should do an engagement session. As a photographer, it is my job to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I promise that it’s not as intimidating as it feels! With me, you’ll feel like you’re at home with your significant other. You’ll feel like it’s just you two. Like I’m not even there. For me, as your wedding photographer, engagement sessions are a great way for me to get to know you and have a session with you before your big day!

What happens if I have to cancel or reschedule after I book you?Things happen! I get it. Let me know and we can reschedule once free of charge. After that it is $20 per reschedule. Cancellations forfeit the non-refundable retainer to account for booking the date and work already done, but are refunded the rest of the payment/released from the remaining balance. A cancellation contract must be signed to be released of the remaining balance or refunded.

What happens if you have an emergency on my wedding day and you can’t make it?Heaven forbid this ever happens…BUT in order to make sure I can completely fulfill the entirety of what you hired me for, I will send another photographer in my place. I will never send a photographer that I wouldn’t trust to photograph my own wedding on their own, so you can have peace of mind knowing that someone experienced will be stepping in my place. I will still be doing all of the post-production hand-editing and delivery. Depending on my situation it might affect your gallery delivery date, but you’ll be in the loop on all the changes as a result of the emergency situation.

Do I get the copyright to my photos? What exactly is “Copyright”?“Copyright is a type of intellectual property that protects original works of authorship as soon as an author fixes the work in a tangible form of expression.” While I will keep the copyright of your photos throughout their lifetime as the artist who produced them, I do grant printing rights to all of my clients. You can print your photos anywhere, and post them wherever you’d like, as long as it is for personal (not commercial) use. Commercial use would be considered any type of publication, ad, or resale materials, which would require a license from me to utilize (i.e. your wedding photos getting published in a magazine).
